My Vacation Blog
2024 St. Augustine Florida. Once you set your eyes on this beautiful town, you come across a breath of fresh air, sun, vibrant beaches, cobblestone streets, and plenty of historical architecture. My favorite day starter there, includes a brunch date at Ancient City Brunch bar. I tried the scrambled eggs, with cheese, fried breakfast potatoes, and a bagel to cure my hunger! Mix in a bloody mary and I had the perfect morning. The Southern spirit was alive, as this brunch bar included a relaxed and friendly social environment. I met the server at the bar, her name was Veronica. She served me my breakfast, and I inquired with a few “where you from” and “what brings you here” questions. She told me that she was studying in school, and recently moved from Kentucky; I told her that I was in Florida to visit my friend Morgan (who lives on a boat) and was in town to explore the area. A few lightbulb moments went by and we and a few other locals ended up joking scenes from “The roast of Tom Brady”. Veronica said to come back later (7pm) for the bar/grill and locals showing up. All in all, it was the perfect experience for me. My favorite story from her was how they have hurricane party’s. This includes the town being shut down(obviously), and everyone getting on their kayaks/jet ski’s to roam the town. While Visiting St. Augustine, there was a special southern spirit that I was lucky to experience, and during this time, it was the greatest release from my normal routine at home.
